Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 20th 2025

Welcome to Crossonic. We are committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, and share information when you use our Crossonic app.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, you may reach us at: contact@crossonic.org

This Privacy Policy applies to the Crossonic app (“we”, “our”, or “us”) and covers our collection, use, and disclosure of your information. This Policy does not cover any third-party websites, services, or applications that can be accessed through our app, or third-party services you may access through Crossonic.

Crossonic stores your login details (server url, username, password, api key) in encrypted form locally on-device. Additionally, your settings, cached versions of album/artist/playlist images and the contents of downloaded playlists (media files, metadata) are stored locally on your device.

We do not have access to this data, nor do we transmit or store it on any of our servers.

When you connect to a music server that server gains access to your connection details including your IP address. To authenticate your requests Crossonic sends your login details (username, password and/or api key) to the server.

When you change any playlist cover your selected image is uploaded to the connected music server.

Whether this information is encrypted in transit depends on how you connect to the server. If you connect to the server over HTTPS, all communication data is securely encrypted with TLS.

Make sure that you only connect to music servers you trust with this data and make sure to read their privacy policy.

Crossonic periodically makes unauthenticated requests to the GitHub REST API to check for the latest available app version. These requests include your device’s IP address and the app version string. GitHub processes this data according to its privacy policy.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any changes, we will notify you by revising the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy. It’s encouraged that users frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about what information we collect and how we are helping to protect it.
